Armory auction update
This is just an update on the antique auction we had last week at the Northfield National Guard Armory. This is the first time that I have had a chance to sit down at a computer all week.
We had a good auction last Saturday. The highlight of the day had to be the "carte de visite" photos of the James/Younger gang and of the posse who went after them. The photos were offered as a pair. The bidding started at $50 for the pair but soon escalated into a battle between two determined bidders. When the bidding stopped the pair of pictures had sold for $800. Other highlights of the auction were a number of "Little Better Books" which sold for $37.50 each with the winning bidder taking 13 books.
